THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Yo Deschamps is a French-Australian landscape photographer based in Western Australia.
Born in the French Alps, he grew up in a small mountain village surrounded by high peaks and glacial valleys. Time spent outdoors from an early age built a strong connection to nature and exploration, leading him toward photography.
Self-taught, Yo developed his skills through years in the field. Working in remote locations, he learned to anticipate changing conditions and recognise short-lived moments of light.
His approach is shaped by patience, preparation, and respect for the landscape. Long approaches, shifting weather, and time spent observing are fundamental parts of the process behind each image.
His work reflects a close attention to atmosphere, natural light, and the subtle variations that define a place.
